Alec Baldwin's mushrooming shape has been of some concern of late. He just seemed to be getting bigger and bigger. But as the actor told PEOPLE's Sue Miller at last night's New York premiere of his new film "Outside Providence" (in which he plays a beer-guzzling, blue-collar dad), there was method to his midriff. "I thought, 'What's the point of trying to look good to play this kind of part?' So I just let myself go. I was halfway there anyway because I wasn't working." He said that when his daughter had an ice cream, so would he. Ditto cookies. "Now I'm trying to lean up and get back in shape," said Alec. How? "Running every day."
