Domestic doyenne Martha Stewart plans to take her empire, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, public. The company includes 27 books, two magazines, a TV show and a website, according to its filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Retail sales of Martha merchandise, such as bath and bed linens and paints (sold exclusively at Kmart), were $763 million last year.
