Prince Edward Presents . . . Grandma!
The life of England's beloved Queen Mum -- who turned 99 last week -- is heading to NBC as a TV movie thanks to her producer-grandson, Prince Edward, and his company, Ardent Prods. Variety reports that Edward (who goes by the professional name of Edward Windsor) also signed "a separate deal for a second high-profile made-for-TV movie with NBC, but details of that project were sketchy." Meanwhile, Ardent, which in the past has specialized in documentaries, is now looking into doing three TV movies for the Showtime cable network. One of them seems appropriate, given the producer's heritage: an adaptation of Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper."
