"JFK" movie director Oliver Stone will enter drug rehab and plead no contest to drunken driving and drug possession as part of a plea bargain that will keep him out of jail. Stone's lawyer, David Wood, said in a court hearing on Tuesday that as part of the plea bargain he expected prosecutors to drop several charges related to drug possession. The Oscar-winning filmmaker, 52, wasn't in court Tuesday when details of the agreement were presented. Beverly Hills Municipal Court Judge Judith Stein said she wanted to be sure Stone personally understood the legal consequences involved in the plea and set a hearing for Sept. 13 when Stone will appear and receive his sentence.

  • Stone was arrested June 9 after being spotted driving erratically. A search of his car turned up a small amount of hashish, and prosecutors said his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.
