On Friday in Paris a French judge dismissed all charges against nine photographers and a press motorcyclist implicated in the car crash that killed Princess Diana, officially ending the two-year investigation into the accident. In his decision, Judge Herve Stephan said the Aug. 31, 1997, accident was "due to the fact that (Henri Paul) the driver of the car was inebriated and under the effects of drugs incompatible with alcohol, which did not allow him to maintain control of his vehicle."

  • Georges Kiejman, the French lawyer for Mohammad Al Fayed (whose son Dodi died in the same car crash, along with the driver, Henri Paul), told Reuters that he would appeal the court's decision to drop all charges against the paparazzi involved in the case.
