"Double Jeopardy," the revenge drama starring Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones, slightly edged out the debut of "Three Kings," the Gulf War drama (which got great reviews) starring George Clooney, for the weekend's No. 1 box-office spot. "American Beauty," a suburban fantasy-drama with Kevin Spacey, had an impressively high per-screen average ($11,473). Hollywood's estimated weekend earnings:
1. "Double Jeopardy," $17.2 million
2. "Three Kings," $16.3 million
3. "American Beauty," $8.1 million
4. "Blue Streak," $8 million
5. "The Sixth Sense," $7.2 million
6. "Drive Me Crazy," $7.1 million
7. "For Love of the Game," $3.4 million
8. "Elmo In Grouchland," $3.3 million
9. "Mystery, Alaska," $3.1 million
10. "Stigmata," $2.3 million
