Newman's Good Works Continue
Paul Newman is starting a camp near Santa Clarita, Calif., for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Painted Turtle Camp is the seventh camp in the nation and the first in California to be associated with Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang Camp Fund, which he started in 1988. The 183-acre site 30 miles located north of downtown Los Angeles was purchased by Page Hannah-Adler, actress Daryl Hannah's younger sister, and other board members. It's expected to open in 2002 and to accommodate 1,000 children, ages 7 to 17.
