Indiana Coach Cited

Indiana basketball coach Bobby Knight will be cited for failing to report that he accidentally shot a companion while bird hunting and for hunting without a license in 1998 and 1999, said Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources. The fine for each of the three infractions is $165. Knight, Thomas Mikunda and two other men were hunting on Oct. 12 when Knight's finger slipped off his shotgun's safety and hit the trigger, said a Wisconsin official. Pellets struck Mikunda in the back and upper shoulder, causing wounds that required medical treatment. Indiana University issued a statement saying it was confident Knight will "respond appropriately" to the charges.
