"Touched by an Angel" star Roma Downey has become an advocate for the Utah Parents and Teachers Association. "We all have to share responsibility for what goes on in the hearts and minds of children," Downey told the Associated Press during a break from her show, which is filmed in Utah. The actress will appear in public-service announcements to promote the volunteer organization. Posters with Downey's picture and the words "You can be an angel and touch the life of a child" will urge residents to call the PTA. In the ads, which are still being produced, Downey encourages Utah residents to join the efforts of the PTA in their neighborhoods or near their work.
