Diggs We Must

The new movie "The Best Man" -- about friends who reunite for a wedding (directed by Malcolm Lee, Spike's cousin) -- premiered in New York last night, starring Taye Diggs and Nia Long. Diggs, who showed up for the festivities with Idina Menzel (with whom he starred in Broadway's "Rent"), told PEOPLE that he has several new projects in the works. These include the movie "Thick as Thieves" with Alec Baldwin, due to be released in January. "I'm in town shooting a new series called 'The River,' " Diggs added. "It's kind of a darker 'ER.' I play a doctor." He also has a play in the works, "The Wild Party," and a film, "The Way of the Gun."
