VH1 Awards: Old News

11/30/1998 at 12:00 AM EST

Ever since the Los Angeles Times printed the winners of the 1939 Academy Awards race for an edition that hit newsstands right before the ceremony (that was the year of "Gone With the Wind"), Oscar voting results have been kept secret. The organizers of the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards might now start thinking about hiring Price Waterhouse, too. Vogue magazine scooped its own awards ceremony late last week when its December issue shipped earlier than planned and revealed the winners of last night. The issue was to have been embargoed but there was a slip-up, and Vogue editors are said to be red-faced -- both out of anger and embarrassment. Among the winners: Tom Ford of Gucci, women's wear designer of the year; Rupert Everett, celebrity style (male); Heather Graham, celebrity style (female); Lenny Kravitz, most fashionable male artist; Jennifer Lopez, most fashionable female artist; Gisele Bundchen, model of the year.
