JASON ALEXANDER TAKES ON BORIS

Is George Costanza bad enough to play Boris Badenov? We'll see. Jason Alexander, best known for his role in the hit TV series "Seinfeld," has been tapped to play Boris in "Rocky and Bullwinkle,'' which starts production in January, Variety reports.The title characters will be created with computer-generated technology, with voices from Alexander and from Monica Potter ("Without Limits''), who has already been cast as the FBI agent who teams up with the squirrel and moose to thwart the evil Boris and Natasha Fatale. Universal is said to be eyeing several statuesque actresses for the role of Natasha. And Robert De Niro, one of the producers, is oft-mentioned to play their boss, the aptly named Fearless Leader. Alexander just completed directing his second feature, "Cherry Pink,'' starring Gretchen Mol.
