For the first time in 10 years, Oprah Winfrey made a public appearance in her Mississippi hometown of Kosciusko. Winfrey dedicated a Habitat for Humanity home on Saturday, and Kosciusko Mayor Jimmy Cockroft said city officials used the occasion to ask her about constructing a landmark. "There are lots of people who travel through here wanting to see something tied to her," he said Monday. Cockroft said one idea is to build a replica of the home Winfrey lived in as a child. The home was torn down in the 1970s or 1980s, he said.
