Cast members of the NBC sitcom "Will & Grace" have taped a TV ad opposing a California ballot initiative that would tighten the state's restrictions on same-gender marriages. Under Proposition 22, California law would not recognize same-sex unions performed under any other jurisdiction. The spot -- which features Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally -- is believed to the first in which the cast of a TV show has appeared together in a political ad. On the series, McCormack and Hayes play gay characters.
With additional reporting by Tony Phillips, Liza Hamm and Ivory Clinton II.
