Arnold's Shattered Globe

11/20/1998 at 12:00 AM EST

Arnold Schwarzenegger is alive and kicking -- kicking the Globe tabloid, that is. The action star and the supermarket tabloid have settled a $50 million libel suit brought over an August 1998 article that described Arnie's health as failing to the point that he feared a heart attack. The Globe was ordered to print a retraction and an apology to Schwarzenegger in its next issue, according to Arnold's attorney. Financial terms were not disclosed, but Schwarzenegger attorney Martin Singer said the Globe has made a contribution to the Inner City Games Foundation, a charity headed by the actor.
