It's awards season, all right. The public chimed in with its picks last night: "The Sixth Sense" was named favorite film of 1999, Julia Roberts was named favorite actress and Harrison Ford was named favorite actor at the People's Choice Awards (no relation to PEOPLE Magazine). TV stars Calista Flockhart of "Ally McBeal" and Drew Carey of "The Drew Carey Show," the shows "Friends" and "ER" and performers Ricky Martin, Shania Twain and the Backstreet Boys were also honored at the 26th annual awards. "The Sixth Sense" won the overall movie and dramatic film categories. Adam Sandler was the favorite comedy star and his movie "Big Daddy" won the comedy movie category. Most winners were chosen by a Gallup poll, and the whole shebang was broadcast from the Pasadena (Calif.) Civic Auditorium.
