Lopez, Party Animal
Jennifer Lopez continues to surface in the news, this time for something other than the Dec. 27 New York nightclub shooting. The Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Sun-Sentinel reported that New Year's revelers Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and others scattered when Lopez crashed Donatella Versace's dinner party for 75 at the glitzy South Beach mansion of Donatella's slain brother, fashion designer Gianni Versace. Madonna announced "dinner's over" when Lopez entered, the newspaper reported. (In a 1998 interview, Lopez criticized the Material Girl for her acting. Of Gwyneth, Lopez said: "I don't remember anything she was in. Some people get hot by association. I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work.") The Sun-Sentinel said Versace's dinner guests scattered to other areas of the mansion as Lopez took a seat at the table. Madonna's rep, Liz Rosenberg, denied any report of ill will between Lopez and her client.
