Don't expect Don Imus and Bryant Gumbel to exchange Valentines. The radio jock has been goading "The Early Show" host over Gumbel's alleged miserly ways in dealing with his estranged wife June. Last Friday Imus sent demonstrators to Gumbel's CBS studios to protest his behavior. (Only Gumbel took the day off, which many considered odd, given the basement ratings of the still relatively new morning show.) Now comes the latest volley: Gumbel's attorney, Stanley Arkin, has told The Washington Post: "Imus is a jerk. What he does is stupid and banal." Next move, Imus's.
