The scheduled arraignment of Michael Skakel for the 1975 murder of childhood neighbor Martha Moxley was postponed today until next month by a judge in Connecticut pending a decision about media coverage of the trial. Last month Skakel, a nephew of Robert Kennedy, was charged with the murder of the 15-year-old girl, who was killed almost 24 years ago with a golf club near her home in Greenwich, Conn. Because Skakel, now 39, was a juvenile at the time of the murder, the case is set to be tried in juvenile court, from which the public is usually barred in an effort to protect minors. Five newspapers, including local Connecticut papers and The New York Times, petitioned the court to open the proceedings, arguing that Skakel is now an adult and the case against him is nationally known. Judge Maureen Dennis heard arguments and will decide.
