Footballer's Trials
A judge in Atlanta set bond at $1 million Monday in the upcoming murder trial of football star Ray Lewis. Superior Court Judge Doris Downs told the Baltimore Raven that could remain at his home in Maryland (so long as he's there every night by 9) while he awaits being tried on charges stemming from two stabbing deaths that occurred during an altercation at a post-Super Bowl party on Jan. 31. Lewis, 24, and two companions were indicted for the murders, and Lewis has been held without bail since the incident. Testifying on Lewis's behalf during his bond hearing Monday was Ravens owner Art Modell, who called Lewis dependable and a "good citizen." One of Lewis's two co-defendants turned himself into authorities Monday; the other remains at large.
