Backstreet Ban in Texas

Four students from the private Sunnybrook Christian Academy in San Antonio, Texas, have been suspended from school for attending a concert given by the Backstreet Boys. The students were busted for breaking a school rule barring "involvement with inappropriate music," school administrator Trudie Perez told the Associated Press. Once school officials confirmed that the students had attended last week's concert at the Alamodome (which was packed), the kids were issued one-day suspensions. "They have some good music, but some of the music, I have been told, has certain sexual references," Perez said. "That's not the message that we want to convey to our young people. We send the message of sexual abstinence." All four students are expected to have completed their suspensions by week's end.
