Kathie Lee Gets Her Gun

Kathie Lee Gifford as Annie Oakley? Yesterday, the TV personality, who will have a lot more time on her hands following her departure from "Live with Regis & Kathie Lee" this summer, told Rosie O'Donnell on Rosie's show that the producers of Broadway's "Annie Get Your Gun" revival approached her to replace the star Bernadette Peters when SHE leaves the stage show. (Talk about musical chairs.) The New York Post, however, reports this morning that, in fact, Kathie Lee approached the "Annie" producers, not the other way around. The Post also says the show's producers, the husband-and-wife team of Fran and Barry Weissler, would like Gifford to star not only in the Great White Way version of the Irving Berlin musical warhorse, but to tour with it around the country.
