Fonda Changes Mind

Jane Fonda has reneged on donating a dress to a charity auction after she wears it at the March 26 Oscars. "I've changed my mind," the actress told the Associated Press. The number in question is a Vera Wang-designed strapless satin dress. "Seriously, I can't just wear this dress for 10 minutes on Oscar night and then turn it over to someone else yet." The Oscar-winning actress (who recently split from Ted Turner) had announced earlier this month the dress would go to the highest bidder at a June 27 charity auction in Atlanta. Proceeds from the sale were meant to benefit the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, which Fonda founded in 1995. The star now says she may be willing to auction off the dress sometime next year. Not that Fonda is leaving the auction high and dry: bidders will still have a chance at nabbing a vacation with Fonda that will take place at her and her estranged husband's Montana ranch.
