Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio? Momentos of the Yankee Clipper, who died last year, struck out at a Christie's auction in New York yesterday. Items included the jersey he wore in his final game at the 1951 World Series, which was pulled from the bidding because the numbers were too low. Expected to fetch between $150,000 to $300,000, the uniform received a top bid of $100,000 -- $20,000 short of the minimum. "I am shocked and disappointed," DiMaggio's friend and attorney Morris Engelberg told the Associated Press. He criticized Christie's decision to offer the DiMaggio items late in an auction that also featured memorabilia from Muhammed Ali and Babe Ruth. "By then," said Engelberg, "the bidders were out of money."
