The baby girl that Annette Bening was carrying at the Oscars has finally arrived. The publicist for Bening, 41, and her husband, Warren Beatty, 63, says that "everybody is happy and healthy" but would not release information regarding the child's name, how much it weighed, or where and when she was born. But the baby's sex may not have been a surprise to the couple, since Beatty hinted backtage at the Oscars that it was a girl. This is the fourth child for the Beattys. Their first, Kathlyn, was born in 1992, the same year Bening and Beatty got married; son Benjamin was born in 1994; and daughter Isabel, in 1997.
- In other news of Bening, she won the best actress award for "American Beauty" at this weekend's British Academy Film Awards in London. "Beauty" won six BAFTAs in all, including best picture and best actor (Kevin Spacey). Asked about Annette Bening missing out on an Oscar last month, Spacey told reporters backstage, "The hardest thing was when Annette didn't win . . . I felt like I was missing an arm."
