Rep. Patrick Kennedy, the son of Sen. Edward Kennedy, denies a charge that he shoved and swore at a Los Angeles International Airport security guard last month, after she told him his bag was too large to make it through an X-ray scanner. "When all the facts become public, people will see that the press reports don't reflect what actually happened," the Rhode Island congressman said in a statement released on Tuesday. Saying that he had apologized for the incident when it took place, he added, "I sincerely hope that this matter can be resolved soon." The guard, Della Patton, 58, complained of injuries to her left shoulder and filed a battery complaint with police about a week after the March 26 incident occurred. No charges against Kennedy have been filed.
