PEOPLE Top 5 are the most-viewed stories on the site over the past three days, updated every 60 minutes
They're not exactly the Oscars, but the nominations for the 9th annual MTV Movie Awards were announced yesterday. "The Matrix" and "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" each nabbed six nods, including those for best picture. Their competition: "The Sixth Sense," "American Pie" and "American Beauty" (which won the Oscar for best picture). MTV also presents prizes for best fight and best kiss. Edward Norton is nominated for the former (in "Fight Club" he slugged himself), while "Boys Don't Cry" Oscar winner Hilary Swank is up against her costar Chloë Sevigny for the latter. The totally foul-mouthed song about an uncle, from "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Cut," is up for best song (the Oscars nominated the flick's less-profane "Blame Canada!"). Sarah Jessica Parker will host the awards ceremony, which is scheduled to air June 8.
