The distinguished voice of actor Patrick Stewart -- still best known as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard on TV's "Star Trek: The Next Generation" -- rose in anger this weekend as he bit the hand that feeds him. The accomplished actor is now appearing on Broadway in "The Ride Down Mt. Morgan" by the legendary Arthur Miller ("Death of a Salesman"). Stewart denounced his producers from the stage, saying that they weren't promoting the show. "Arthur Miller and I no longer have confidence in our producers' commitment to this production -- especially the Shubert Organization," said Stewart. The Shuberts are considered the most powerful producers and landlords on Broadway, and few people ever dare to tussle with them, especially in public. A rep for the Shuberts released a statement saying that the producers' commitment to the play "could not be stronger."
