Actor Patrick Swayze escaped injury on Thursday, when he was forced to make an emergency landing of the plane he was flying outside of Phoenix. The "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" star, 47, was flying a twin-engine Cessna 414A from the San Fernando Valley in Southern California to Las Vegas, said a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration. He landed on a street and lost a section of the plane's wing after hitting a light pole. FAA controllers said they had lost sight of Swayze's plane on radar at 13,000 feet around noon. They could not contact him by radio. Once he landed, Swayze walked away from the plane. He did not seek medical treatment.
