Bobby Brown Sentenced

Good news and bad news for Bobby Brown. A Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., judge sentenced the musician-husband of Whitney Houston to 75 days in jail yesterday for violating his probation for a drunken driving conviction. That's the bad news. The good: A prosecutor agreed to drop the more serious charge of failing a drug test by testing positive for cocaine. (Under terms of his probation, Brown must remain clean and sober.) Instead, he plead guilty to the charge of refusing to take a drug test and for failing to return on schedule from a trip to California. "I just want to continue on with my sobriety and get back home to my family," Brown told reporters after the ruling. Houston echoed some of her husband's sentiments in a statement released yesterday. "I am glad there is finally an end to this situation," she said. "I look forward to getting on with our lives and careers, and most importantly, to Bobby being at home with me and the children."
