Andy Dick Makes Progress

Former "NewsRadio" actor Andy Dick, 33, is making progress in his drug rehabilitation, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge said on Thursday, and his record could soon be cleared of cocaine and marijuana possession charges. Dick's court troubles stem from a May 15, 1999, car crash in which the comedian knocked down a utility pole near the Hollywood Bowl. He pleaded no contest to driving under the influence and hit-and-run driving (both misdemeanors) and was ordered to repay the city for damages. He was also placed on three years probation. Last August, however, he was sentenced to a two-year drug diversion program after his guilty plea to cocaine and marijuana possession. Dick will next go before the judge for a progress reassessment on Jan. 26, 2001.
