The well-dressed bachelor may not sport a shirt -- as evidenced by the photo of hunky New York firefighter Tom Foley, one of PEOPLE's 100 Most Eligible Bachelors -- but the well-stocked bachelor pad is short of nothing. At last night's bachelor bash hosted by the magazine at New York's Studio 450, the entire place was made up to look like the quintessential bachelor pad (the 'fridge was overflowing with beer, pizza boxes were piled high and cereal boxes were scattered on the floor). Nobody went hungry, especially when it came to eye-candy. Foley, among the most popular bachelors in the issue, told PEOPLE last night that appearing in the pages of the mag was "very different. I'm not used to this kind of thing. I'm a New York City fireman . . . that's what I do." Another featured bachelor, David Nash, was asked whom he'd like to date and answered without hesitation: "Meg Ryan. She's fresh on the market." And bachelor Vincent Pan said something surprising. Asked what he thought was the key element to a successful bachelor party, he replied, "not to have women . . . Guys only."
