"X-Men" took a giant leap off the comic book pages and onto the nation's movie screens. According to studio estimates, the movie had the fourth highest three-day opening ever (behind three sequels -- "The Lost World: Jurassic Park," "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace") and "Mission: Impossible 2") and replaced "Scary Movie" as the second-biggest opening of 2000 (after "M:I-2"). Industry reports say 20th Century Fox, the studio behind "X-Men," had expected to pull in perhaps $35 million this weekend. The box office results:
