Spoiler's alert: If you do not wish to know who might take home the $1 million prize on CBS's "Survivor" on Aug. 23, then stop reading now. The Baltimore Sun believes it has cracked the secret identity of the winner by studying the network's Web site. And that would be . . . Gervase Peterson, 30, who coaches kids basketball and lives in Willingboro, N.J., near Philadelphia. (A Web site called "Survivorsucks" has also drawn the same conclusion.) The Sun bases its finding solely on the Survivor Tribal Council Voting History page, where contestants who have already been eliminated have a red X. But in the directory displaying contestant photos, Gervase's image is the only one that survives without an X. To back up its claim, the Sun tried to contact Peterson, only to discover he has an unlisted phone number. Calls to a CBS spokesperson only elicited a response that it is the network's policy to "neither confirm nor deny" any rumors surrounding the program.
