CMA Puts Its Faith in Faith
Faith Hill led the field and received eight Country Music Association award nominations in Nashville yesterday. Close behind her, with six nominations, was newcomer Brad Paisley ("He Didn't Have To Be"), with nods for best song, single and video, as well as for top male vocalist. Faith's husband Tim McGraw received three nominations: he's up for male vocalist of the year and shares the nomination for vocal event of the year with his wife for "Let's Make Love" plus he will be competing against her for the entertainer of the year award. Also in the race for that top honor: the Dixie Chicks, Alan Jackson and George Strait. The awards will be broadcast live by CBS on Oct. 4.
