Wearing Brad Pitt on her arm surely helps, but what really earned Jennifer Aniston her spot on the list of PEOPLE's Best Dressed for 2000 were designers like Prada. The new Mrs. Pitt, along with George Clooney, Britney Spears, Samuel L. Jackson, Charlize Theron, Kevin Spacey, Prince William, Pierce Brosnan, Heather Locklear and Freddie Prinze Jr. were selected fashion's finest in the new issue of PEOPLE, which hits newsstands Friday. A panel of judges (who include Seventh Avenue designer Dana Buchman and stylist Richard Tyler) congratulated Aniston for dropping the T-shirt look, while Clooney wins applause for his streamlined American sportswear and European-cut suits. Britney's glitter and cleavage blends well with Calvin Klein and Donna Karan. Jackson gets the nod for mixing radically monochromatic evening wear with streetwise Kangol caps. As for model-actress Theron, "She can get away with nearly anything," model Mia Tyler tells PEOPLE. The Worst Dressed of 2000 includes Lil' Kim (said to dress for effect, not fashion), "Ally McBeal" actress Portia de Rossi ("Horrible!" wails TV host Ben Stein), Bruce Willis (he can thank an ill-fitting wardrobe), navel-exposing Christina Aguilera (a bellyflop), "Nurse Betty" star Renée Zellweger (whose look needs nursing), plus Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lucy Liu, Lara Flynn Boyle, Lauren Holly and Bebe Neuwirth. What? No Jennifer Lopez on either list? She, along with Halle Berry, lands on PEOPLE's Least Dressed list.
