Ramseys Ask to Be Cleared
Following two days of grilling by investigators, which marked their first interviews with cops in two years, John and Patsy Ramsey yesterday called on law authorities to clear them of suspicion in the unsolved 1996 murder case of their 6-year-old daughter JonBenet. "Whatever obstacles are in your way to make you think I killed my child, I want to help you get over that," Patsy Ramsey said at a new conference in Atlanta. "The time has come for the police to come forward and publicly acknowledge that there's nothing left to do," Ramseys attorney L. Lin Wood said. "The evidence is not there." Boulder Police Chief Mark Beckner said in a statement that their two days of interviewing the parents yielded "less than we hoped for." Video footage of the interviews obtained and aired by NBC depicts a confrontational relationship between Patsy Ramsey and those questioning her.
