Heche To Pen Memoir

There may finally be some answers and insights into the still-unexplained incident that took place last month when Anne Heche wandered into a stranger's home in Bakersville, Calif., following her break-up with Ellen DeGeneres. The actress, 31, has sold her memoirs to the distinguished New York publishing house of Scribner's, reports Variety. No figure for the sale has been disclosed, or whether or not Heche will write the book herself or employ a collaborator. In addition to her 3 1/2 years under the spotlight because of her relationship with DeGeneres and an earlier romance with Steve Martin, Heche's life has included much drama. Her father was a Baptist church choir director in Ohio who was secretly gay (a fact Heche discovered when she was 12 and he was dying of AIDS), and her brother was killed in a car accident the same year as their father's death.
