Nicolas Cage and Helen Hunt are the latest stars to step up to the plate and offer assistance to the striking members of the Screen Actors Guild, reports Variety. Hunt has pledged $100,000, while Cage donated $200,000, the largest donation so far to the strike relief fund, which benefits union members who have been unable to work during the strike. The 36-year-old Oscar-winning actor (1995's "Leaving Las Vegas") said in a statement, "I have been a member of the Screen Actors Guild for 20 years. The union has stood by me, and I stand by it." Cage and Hunt follow the lead of Harrison Ford and Kevin Spacey, who both donated $100,000 to the strike relief fund. George Clooney, Britney Spears and 'N Sync have also pitched in. SAG began their strike 145 days ago over the issue of the threat of actors not receiving residuals from advertisers for network TV ads. The negotiations to resolve the strike continue.
