Meg: 'My Marriage Was Broken'
Meg Ryan has finally spoken out about her affair with Russell Crowe, as well as about the end of her nine-year marriage to Dennis Quaid. Regarding the marriage, "It dissolved before it became sport for the press," Ryan tells W magazine in its November issue. "The public and the press tuned in way after." (The couple officially announced on June 28 they were parting company, and both have subsequently filed for divorce.) She goes on to say, "The reasons we broke up have nothing to do with another person. My marriage was broken -- nobody else broke it up." She gives no specific reason for the rift, but does say, "Neither of us, me nor Dennis, is cavalier about the breakup. We both behaved very honorably -- in our marriage and in our breakup." (Shortly after the divorce announcement, Quaid's pal Beau Holden told PEOPLE that Dennis, 46, "has made a good rebound . . . It's not like he had a choice in this.") As for her relationship with the hunky "Gladiator" star, Ryan admits that she took a bad beating from the public, who thought she'd left her good-guy hubby for the roguish New Zealander. "I found myself . . . thinking all of a sudden, so this is what it feels like to be the Scarlet Woman!"
