"Scary" Spice Girl Mel B -- aka Melanie Brown -- and estranged husband Jimmy Gulzar were in a London courtroom yesterday to fight for custody of their 20-month-old daughter, Phoenix Chi. Their divorce is expected to be completed in November, reports Reuters, but before then legal representatives of Gulzar, 33, are trying to persuade Justice Coleridge of the High Court's Family Division that the father, a dancer from Holland, should have custody of the child every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and at all times when Brown is on the road. Brown, 27, reportedly sported a conservative look in court. She wore a brown pant suit and had her normally flyaway hair pulled back into a tight bun. Gulzar wore a business suit. The private hearing is expecting to last until tomorrow.
