Conman extraordinaire Prof. Harold Hill and his "76 Trombones" are coming to TV. Matthew Broderick will star in a new small-screen version of the great Broadway musical "The Music Man," which is currently enjoying a spectacular revival on the Great White Way. (The 1962 movie version, with the show's original star, Robert Preston, is also a favorite on home video.) The TV special is being planned for ABC's "Wonderful World of Disney," to be aired during a sweeps period, says Variety. The producers also did the recent TV versions of "Annie" and "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella." Furthermore, for the role of the repressed Marion the librarian, who eventually falls for the charms of Prof. Hill, the producers are said to be wooing "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker, who just happens to be married to Broderick.
