Elton John and Natalie Cole headlined a "One Night With Lite" charity benefit in New York last night that supported John's AIDS foundation and breast cancer research. Radio station 106.6 Lite FM sponsored the event, which, reports PEOPLE, brought out Elton in a lime green suit to sing "Your Song," "Daniel," "Rocket Man," "Philadelphia Freedom," "Crocodile Rock" and "Candle in the Wind" -- and to receive a standing ovation for each. Cole sang five numbers, including "Angel on My Shoulder," about her battle with drug abuse ("Angel on My Shoulder" is also the name of her new memoir) and "Living for Love," which she co-wrote and which she dedicated to "anybody who's ever been used and abused." But possibly the most memorable moment of the evening might have been the reaction of the crowd to a music video featuring Kathie Lee Gifford singing "Love Never Fails," which was greeted by laughter and boos . . . until surprise guest Kathie Lee herself stepped out. While she did receive some polite signs of support, says PEOPLE, members of the crowd razzed her throughout her duties as emcee.
