Troubled ex-Yankee slugger Darryl Strawberry, currently on probation for drug and solicitation charges, was arrested and jailed in Tampa, Fla. today for allegedly testing positive for cocaine, reports the Associated Press. He was reportedly taken away from a private treatment center in Tampa, the site of his arrest, and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail, according to C. J. Drake, a spokesman for the Florida Department of Corrections. Strawberry, 38, is being held without bail, said Drake. He added that the disgraced ballplayer (who had been sentenced to 18 months probation in May of last year after pleading no contest to charges of possessing drugs and soliciting a prostitute) had violated his curfew and was absent from the center over the weekend.
