The Attorney-General of Ontario, Canada, is examining his law books, trying to halt a concert by Eminem that is scheduled to take place at Toronto's SkyDome tonight. Jim Flaherty told reporters yesterday that the controversial Grammy-winning rapper isn't welcome in America's neighbor to the north because, say some Canadian officials, his lyrics promote violence against women. Liberal politician Michael Bryant has called for Eminem to be turned back at the border. "In Canada," he told Reuters, "we have laws that say expression which (sic) causes harm may not be protected under our constitution and may result in criminal sanction." He added, "I have never seen lyrics in this league . . . I don't think it's cool to say you're going to shoot your girlfriend and throw her in the trunk." A spokesman for the musician says that Eminem plans to perform, as scheduled.
