Each worker had contributed a single dollar last Saturday when store manager Mary Champaine, a 53-year-old widow whose husband died of cancer a year ago, passed her hat around the workplace to buy tickets. "I just went down in my purse, and I found enough change . . . to include everybody," she told the Associated Press yesterday. "We are a team here."
