Thirteen lucky Starbucks employees in Los Angeles can say goodbye to their daily grind (ouch), thanks to a winning $87 million lottery ticket that they all shared. Each worker had contributed a single dollar last Saturday when store manager Mary Champaine, a 53-year-old widow whose husband died of cancer a year ago, passed her hat around the workplace to buy tickets. "I just went down in my purse, and I found enough change . . . to include everybody," she told the Associated Press yesterday. "We are a team here." Champaine has no plans to quit her job, but she would like to buy a new fence and paint for her home. "I came to work today with only $7 in my pocket," she said as she still awaits the arrival of the state lottery check. "God is wond erful."
