Drew, Tom's Missed Wedding
Lovebirds Drew Barrymore, 25, and Tom Green, 28, were all set to pull a Michael Douglas-Catherine Zeta-Jones by getting married in New York over the weekend -- on the air on "Saturday Night Live" -- until Drew pulled the plug on the plan, reports Variety columnist Army Archerd. With the priest and marriage license all set to go, the cancellation reportedly took place only five minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to go live on camera and came as total surprise to the show's producer, Lorne Michaels. Green himself was caught off guard, too, says Archerd, who quotes the offbeat comic as telling his fiancé, "How could you do that to me?" While Green was left waiting in the wings, guests left waiting in the green room apparently included Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg and her children, Tom Hanks, Sara Gilbert, Cameron Diaz, Miramax honcho Harvey Weinstein and Gwyneth Paltrow. (Gwyneth's time wasn't completely wasted -- she did a bit during the "Weekend Update" portion of the show.) Yesterday, says Archerd, Green called his manager and said that he and Barrymore -- who decided that getting hitched on "SNL" was "inappropriate" -- could tie the knot next summer.
