Tina Turner: Last Leg

The curtain came down on Tina Turner at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, Calif., last night, as 18,000 fans witnessed the final show of her farewell tour. The rock goddess, 61, is leaving the road after 44 years and decades of hits such as "River Deep, Mountain High" and "What's Love Got to Do With It" (which were both on Wednesday's program). She has not ruled out playing charity gigs or occasionally joining old chums on stage, such as the Rolling Stones, however. Her main plan, she has said, is to take it easy with her German-born boyfriend, Erwin Bach, at her homes in Zurich and the south of France. For her final song, "Nutbush City Limits," Turner soared over the crowd in a giant cherry picker, reports Reuters. Her parting words as she exited the stage weighed down with flower bouquets presented by fans: "I thank you for all your support."
