Former "Ally McBeal" costar Courtney Thorne-Smith and her husband, genetic scientist Andrew Conrad, have separated after seven months of marriage, calling the decision mutual, the actress said through her spokesman on Thursday. "There are no third parties involved. We remain good friends and will share custody of our dogs." The couple married last June 2 in Hawaii, shortly after Thorne-Smith, who played attorney Georgia Thomas, left the Fox show. (On the series, the characters of Thorne-Smith and Calista Flockhart competed for the affections of Gil Bellows, who departed the show before Thorne-Smith.) Before "Ally," Thorne-Smith, 32, starred on "Melrose Place" (she also dated costar Andrew Shue) though she first gained attention with her recurring role as a Lakers cheerleader on "L.A. Law."
