A Kilt for All

With Madonna's groom Guy Ritchie expected to march down the aisle in a floor-length kilt in the Hunting Mackintosh tartan, the skirt for men might just become as popular as blue jeans, say some fashion observers. Well, almost as popular. Well, a curiosity. But these days the kilt is catching on, notes The New York Times. At the Christian Dior fall show, designer John Galiano unveiled a sequined kilt, and Burberry designer Roberto Menichetti outfitted men in tartan wool skirts in his show. A kilt in Burberry's trademark nova check plaid is currently on the market for $750, and has shown up wrapped around the waist of artist Damien Loeb. Musician Donovan Leitch is also a kilt kind of guy, and Kyle MacLachlan wore one, in plaid, on one his character's wedding on "Sex and the City." So, gents, don't be surprised if Santa plops down a kilt under your tree. Have a bonny Christmas.
